The Grub Club
The Grub Club is a new government initiative providing activities and food for children in the school holidays. Hebburn Helps have always provided kids packed lunch to those who need during the school holidays so we are pleased that this initiative is now in place to help even more children in the area. The Grub Club is held at St Oswald’s Church Hall in Hebburn and is on from 10 am to 3 pm Mondays and Wednesdays throughout the 2018 Summer Holiday.
We have a fun packed schedule of activities as well as scrumptious food, including breakfast and lunch, for you to enjoy every week during the holiday. Children under 8 years of age will need parent or carer supervision during the sessions. Everything at the Grub Club is free, all we ask is that you register with us before you join in the fun. Registration forms are available on the door. The menu and activities change every week so you should join our Facebook group to keep up to date.
Rules of The Grub Club
All the activities are being run by some of our very creative volunteers, all of which are DBS checked, as well as the regular Hebburn Helps leaders most of you already know. We’ve tried to make the activities as varied and enjoyable as possible — with an emphasis on creativity and exercise.
Our aim is to create memories for your children, make new friends and help relieve the burden that the 6 weeks holidays can have on a family. So that we can do this, we ask that all children, and parents, follow our 6 simple rules (we aren’t asking for much!):
- No fighting.
- Be kind to each other.
- Shared all the activities – do not exclude anyone.
- Wash your hands before eating and after using the toilet.
- Take care of the games and equipment.
- Clear away your own dishes and clean the table if in a mess.
